Better to say too much than not enough. PURPOSE The purpose of this position is to deliver newspapers that may have been missed by the carrier earlier that morning. There may also be a need to deliver a newspaper from a previous day as well. Each of these deliveries is referred to as a service call . All papers are going to paying subscribers, so it is imperative they be delivered. There may be an instance where a single address receives multiple papers.

DAYS WORKED

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday You may think of it as Sunday thru Wednesday; however the pay period ends on Sunday, so thinking of it as Sunday thru Wednesday encompasses two separate pay periods. This is a morning position. You should start delivering the service calls around 8:30 am until you finish all deliveries. Usually, there may be around 10 or fewer per day. This usually takes about two hours to complete if you are methodical (this will be explained later). Sundays can take longer and can be three hours to complete all deliveries as there may be more service calls . All deliveries are expected to be completed in the morning. This is not an afternoon or when you get around to it position.

WHATCHA DOING

Each day you will arrive at the warehouse (8:30 am {earlier is fine}) to retrieve newspapers to deliver for that day. You will be provided the list via Microsoft ToDo app. This list will update through 10:15 am (Monday thru Wednesday) and until 11:15 am (Sunday). You will use your vehicle to deliver to all addresses in the ToDo list. A picture showing proof of delivery MUST be uploaded via the ToDo app as well.

WHEN COMPLETING A SERVICE CALL

The expectation is all papers are delivered to the driveway and a picture taken that shows the paper in the driveway as well as the house. If the delivery is to an apartment, then a picture of the paper delivered to the door showing the unit number should be uploaded. These images are utilized to prove a paper was redelivered.

AREA COVERED

All service calls will range between Ellenwood, Tucker, Kirkwood to Piedmont Rd / Cheshire Bridge Rd area. This also includes Stone Mountain, Lithonia, Decatur, Avondale Estates, Scottdale and Pine Lake. Methodology (mentioned earlier) The service calls do not come in in any particular order. They will be entered in the order a subscriber states they did not receive their paper. The service calls do not need to be completed in the order received, they just all need to be completed as quickly as possible. Each service call will contain a route number that will have the zip code embedded. Utilizing this embedded zip code will alert you to which addresses are closer together. Learning to master this will greatly reduce your zigzagging across the city unnecessarily.

COMPENSATION

The pay is a minimum of $40 per day. This covers 10 service calls. If there are more than 10 service calls in a single day, you will be paid an additional $4 per service call. If there are only 3 service calls in a single day, you will be paid the $40 minimum for the day. The full list must be completed each day. So you are aware, when there is heavy rain overnight, there may be more service calls on that particular day. And more service calls does mean you will make more money. You will ONLY be compensated for deliveries that have the clear image uploaded to the ToDo app. Failure to do so will forfeit payment for that service call. Even if there is a phone or network outage, connecting to a WiFi network such as McDonald’s, Chick-Fil-A, etc will allow you to upload images.
