Job Description

Courier Job Description SUMMARY Delivers packages, supplies, documents, and other items to clinic’s departments/physicians and business establishments as well as performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Travels to delivery site on foot or automobile.
Keeps log of items received and delivered; Obtains signatures when required.
Obtains receipts for articles delivered.
Maintains Shred Bins on dedicated areas of clinic.
Assembles, installs, repairs, and moves new equipment, furniture, and fixtures within the clinic and satellite properties as needed.
Assists with distributing and collecting incoming mail.
Transport night deposits, and assist cashiers in obtaining change from bank daily.
Maintains company vehicle driven, such as checking fluid levels and replenishing fuel.
Assists in the Purchasing Department as needed per Purchasing Business Manager.

HOURS:

7:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday. Occasional Saturday if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of city area roads. Mechanical background preferred.

Valid Louisiana state driver’s license. Proof of A+ driving record
