    Position Overview
    The Temporary Staff Ready Courier provides critical support to our Medical Oncology and Laboratory teams by transporting time-sensitive specimens and materials in a timely and secure manner.

This non-clinical float position may also assist in other areas such as Admissions, Transport, or Patient Observation, depending on organizational needs and individual competencies. This role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to stand and walk for long periods, and a commitment to professionalism, communication, and patient safety.
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $16.00/hour.

Compensation is commensurate upon education & experience

  • range is $16.00 /hour or more (depending on education & experience). Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is a non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities
Transport medical specimens and materials between departments, sites, and laboratories in a timely and secure manner.
Provide courteous, professional communication with healthcare staff and departments.
Serve as a float support to areas such as Admissions, Transport, or Patient Observation, based on organizational needs and competencies.
Ensure all deliveries are completed according to policy and documented as required.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards during all duties.
Follow all ARHS policies, safety regulations, and infection prevention guidelines.
Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Position Requirements

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

Experience in a healthcare or courier-related role preferred.

Required Registration/License/Certification:

Valid driver’s license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, routes, and schedules.
Understanding of healthcare operations and confidentiality practices.
Physical Demands
Lifts, positions, pushes, pulls, and/or transfers up to and greater than 50 pounds.
Prolonged standing and walking.
Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
Near acuity: ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
Working Conditions
The position involves direct contact with patients and exposure to bodily fluids.
The work environment is a healthcare setting, which may include exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
The role requires adherence to standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
