Primary Function:
Responsible for the preparation, processing, and follow up of specimens for reference laboratories and in-house laboratory. Processes and packages specimens for transport to all reference laboratories. Enters patient and test information in Cerner as needed. Researches test orders and establishes necessary requirements for proper processing of specimens. Monitors phlebotomy station bench when needed, processes specimens to include, but not limited to: in-labbing, add-ons, stat orders, delivery and notification to phlebotomy staff when needed. Communicates to patient care givers any testing requirements or results. Maintains the work area, including ordering of all necessary supplies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications:
A High School diploma or equivalent is required. A valid drivers license is also required.
