BASIC FUNCTION
The fuel dock attendant is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of Marina’s marine fueling station.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
a) Reports to: Dock Master, Marina Supervisor
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and perform routine minor maintenance on the Marina’s fueling station, docks, office, equipment, and associated facilities. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding operations of fuel storage tanks and marine fueling stations. Perform periodic safety inspections on the marine fueling system and fuel dock. Receive, check and verify fueling deliveries and associated products. Monitor fuel tank status and make recommendations for fuel deliveries. Assist with vessel arrivals to the fuel and visitors docks and assist with vessel tie ups. Instruct boaters in the proper methods for performing fueling operations and supervise dispensing of fuel products. Collect payments in the form of cash, check, credit and debit cards. Clean and maintain guest dock, monitor guest moorage and collect fees. Enforce Marina rules, regulations and best management practices.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High School education. Prior fuel dock experience. Basic computer skills. Basic record-keeping abilities. Ability to work independently with little direction.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Ability to swim; know man overboard procedures; CPR and basic first aid trained. Pleasant personality and ability to get along with customers, co-workers and harbor officers. Minimum one year experience working as a fuel dock attendant.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium work, ability to move up to 50 lbs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
Activities occur outside and are subject to weather conditions. Subject to loud noise levels.
