This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing high-quality care during transport. The Transportation Technician will work closely with Funeral Homes and Crematories to facilitate critical care transport, home community care, and support hospital operations. Duties Safely transport deceased to and from various Funeral facilities, ensuring they’re safely transported throughout the journey. Assist in basic office upkeep as needed, providing a clean work space when not on the road. Collaborate with medical staff to assess family needs and implement appropriate care plans with Funeral directors during transportation. Maintain accurate records of decedent information and transport details, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Conduct regular checks on transportation equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Provide support in critical event transport situations, working efficiently under pressure while prioritizing the task at hand. Communicate effectively with directors, families, and healthcare teams to provide updates and address concerns. Skills Should be able to handle the graphic nature that occurs in the hospital scene, and have the physical capabilities to lift +100 pounds. Strong background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding of family needs. Familiarity with critical care transport protocols to ensure safe handling of decedents requiring specialized attention. Knowledge of hospital operations and procedures to facilitate seamless transitions for deceased between facilities. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping families in their time of need and are looking to make a meaningful impact within the Funeral Industry through their work as a Transportation Technician.
