Job Description:

Headquartered in Plymouth, HVA provides EMS to portions of Wayneand Oakland counties along with several large-scale special events,including Plymouth Art in the Park and USA Hockey events. Ourparamedics typically work 12 or 24-hour shifts and provide bothemergent and non-emergent transport, delivering patient care underhospital-approved medical protocols. Additional opportunities forparamedics include training in critical care transport andcommunity paramedicine. HVA also has opportunities within ourspecialty teams including HazMat medical response, technicalrescue, honor guard, tactical EMS, and bicycle medic teams.

Requirements Applicants must be at least 18 years of age Highschool diploma or equivalent Valid State of Michigan paramediclicense ACLS, CPR, and PHTLS or ITLS certified (PHTLS can beprovided upon hire) Valid driver’s license and acceptable drivingrecord Physically capable of meeting job requirements: lifting andmoving patients, carrying medical equipment Ability to pass acompany-sponsored background check, drug screen, and physicalAbility to work professionally and cooperatively with a diverserange of people Job Duties Maintain high clinical standards in allaspects of care. Safely drive and operate ambulances. Provide basiclife support, including CPR, airway, suction, oxygen application,bleeding control, splinting, bandaging, etc. Provide advanced lifesupport, including ACLS, airway management, medicationadministration, IV administration, etc. Provide convalescent care,including transporting sick, injured, and convalescent patients toand from medical facilities. Proficiently and safely performpatient handling, including stretcher operations, lifting, andloading. Treat patients with compassion and respect.
