Job Description
This position is for a Event Crew 1 with a company in Columbus, MS.
Summary:
Will assist in loading and unloading vehicles/trucks and work with Crew Leader to deliver any equipment in full or partial loads. Set-up of some equipment is required. Must service customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner. Oversight and training of junior employees is expected. Shipping and receiving functions are also expected. Attend training as required, this may be off-site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Load and unload equipment. Set-up and take down rental equipment. Prep equipment, prior to loading. Assist with the delivery and pick up of equipment. Provide directional assistance when parking delivery truck. Double check delivered items to make sure customer receives exactly what was ordered. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form. Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations. Perform other duties as requested. Be an expert in specifics and applications of all rental inventory and be able to answer all client questions regarding inventory. Perform quality control on event installations. Check off equipment as it is loaded. Secure loads for safety. Maintain accurate delivery and pick up records. When picking up equipment if something is missing or broken, fill out the appropriate forms and obtain customer’s signature. Verify pick up ticket copies were delivered to proper personnel, so counts then can be verified prior to unloading. Attend meetings as required. Lead event installations and deliveries, whether onsite or remotely. Provide input for scheduling, processes, and crew make up. Ensure equipment is returned to correct location in warehouse. Open and close rental yard. Report difficulties and problems with deliveries and pickups. Perform vehicle maintenance and checks daily. Report safety violations. Fill-in for other positions when necessary.
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to the general range of weather experienced in the area, with the exception of several hours in the warehouse loading or unloading and drive time. Some work areas may not be heated or air conditioned. May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and cleaning solvents. Stooping, crouching, bending, lifting, lowering, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, carting and carrying are intermittent tasks that routinely occur. This job requires interaction with co-workers & clients.
Education, Skills & Requirements:
Must have high school diploma, or GED. Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs. Must maintain a professional personal appearance. Must possess customer relation skills. Must pass company drug screen. Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. Must have a full range of motion and dexterity. Must be able to understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers. Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience. Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems. Must be able to speak English clearly and write legibly. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Computer knowledge is preferred.
