Apply now and join our team! This role is responsible for the safe pick-up, packing, delivery and unpacking of donated items from the local community to a Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity ReStore. This is a hands on, physically demanding position moving typically large items but with a rewarding mission. Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity builds homes, hope and community in the Cape Fear region. R es po n s ibi l iti e s : The ReStore Donations Mover ensures that residential and commercial donors receive professional, timely, and efficient service. The Donations Mover ensures that donations of building materials, furniture, appliances, and other goods are loaded and transported in a safe and secure manner to the warehouse. Reporting to ReStore Driver Supervisor the Donations Mover works with other staff members to ensure storage of all donations are organized and maintain in accordance with any and all safety standards and regulations. Duties Represents ReStore in a professional manner when dealing with donors, volunteers, fellow staff members, and the general public Communicates effectively with donors and coworkers to ensure the efficient operation of collections. Operating a Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity Box truck or other vehicle(s) Must follow all applicable traffic and motor carrier laws Conducts on site screening on all donated items, refusing unacceptable items and providing referrals where possible Loads and secures donated materials from around New Hanover County and surrounding areas, honoring the schedule and arrangements made with donors; unloads those materials in warehouse Completes and submits donation receipts and reports as directed Assist in keeping donation trucks well maintained and clean, notifying management of minor repairs and preventative maintenance as needed Keep the drop-off area, warehouse, and isles clean and organized adhering to any safety standards and regulations Encourages volunteer program success by contributing to a positive, supportive atmosphere and encouraging volunteer engagement Any other tasks assigned by the ReStore Driver Supervisor Requir e m e n t s Be committed to the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s mission Valid driver license with proof of clear certified Motor Vehicle Report required with application submission Experience moving furniture and driving a box truck helpful, but not required Must be able to lift 75+ lbs., stand, squat, bend, and climb on a consistent basis Ability to efficiently navigate New Hanover County and surrounding areas Able to work outdoors, even in inclement weather Familiarity with building materials is a plus Excellent customer service skills High School graduate or higher Satisfactory results on criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening test Benefits offered: PTO and Holidays Full health benefit package options 401k Plan with Match Program Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity is an equal opportunity employer.
