3,000 JOBSUMMARY
The Second in Command is so designated as the SIC for aflight or series of flights in accordance with the principals andprocedures as required by FAR Part 135. The SIC is responsible forthe safe execution of flight duties to which he or she is assigned.
The SIC will support the PIC in their final authority in theoperation of the aircraft and exercises Operational Control on theTier 2 level as described in Chapter 5 of the General OperationsManual. The SIC must meet minimum qualifications as specified byFederal Aviation Regulation Part 135.245. The fixed wing pilotschedules are a rotating 8 days on followed by 6 days off dutyassignment. While on duty, pilots serve a 12-hour shift (or up tothe maximum allowed under Part 135 if on mission) from home andmust be able to meet that program’s specified call-out time inorder to meet the planned launch time of a trip. Pilot shiftassignments consist of either a day duty period or a night dutyperiod and are scheduled the month prior by the Base Lead Pilot toprovide pilots sufficient opportunity to prepare their rest cycle.
Pilots can expect to serve the same duty period during theirassigned 8 days on shift and then rotate to the next duty periodduring their next 8-day shift assignment. Changes to duty periodswithin a 8-day shift assignment are discouraged but can occurdepending on local needs at the Base.
MINIMUM JOBQUALIFICATIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES
Complies with the dutiesand responsibilities contained within AirMed International generaloperating manual.
Ensures the aircraft is ready for mission incoordination with AirMed’s 121 dispatch team.
Complies with alldomestic and international guidance in accordance with applicableFARs, ICAO annexes and individual AIPs.
Ensures that all pertinentinformation about flight operations will be disseminated throughthe operational control structure.
Conducts themselves in aprofessional manner to include being sensitive to the environmentthey are in at all times.
Attends meetings when required and may berequired to attend training and check-flights outside of normalduty shift rotations.
