Job Description Overview General:
The M.C. Dean, Inc. Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED /n
Experience:
3 Years
- The Engineering Technician 2 has a thoroughknowledge of shipboard C5ISR installation practices and procedures,as demonstrated by successful accomplishment of installation tasks.
Build infrastructure (cabling, connections, racks) and install andtest equipment and devices on ships and submarines. A minimum ofthree (3) years of applicable experience performing alterationinstallation tasks to include fabrication and assembly or repairsof electromechanical and electronic assemblies perfabrication/assembly drawings. Experience shall include solderingwith low wattage (under 30 watts) soldering devices, assemblingcable harnesses, and making high-density electrical cableconnectors, coaxial connectors, and waveguide connectors. /n
Skillsand Proficiency:
/n
- Works with a team supporting cabling,equipment, and C5ISR system installations /n
- Read and understandshipboard installation drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and cablerunning sheets. /n
- Demonstrate skill in the operation of allcommonly used installation test equipment, including spectrumanalyzers, voltmeters, VSWR meters, Bit-Error Rate Test Sets, andCategory 5e/6 cable testers. /n
- Demonstrate advanced speed andaccuracy when performing tasks such as attaching fiber opticconnectors, RJ-45 connectors, and DB type connectors, and whendressing cable installations so that the finished product presentsa well-organized and professional appearance. /n
- Demonstratesuperior skills in complex mechanical, sub-assembly, rack andchassis assembly /n

Security and WorkLocations:
/n
- Work is primarily in Jacksonville, FL but you maytravel for extended periods to other shipyards in the USA and toother Navy ports outside the USA /n
- Applicants selected will besubject to a government security investigation and may meeteligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access toclassified information; eligibility for clearance is required. /n
- You must pass a background investigation /n
- You must have a validdriver’s license /n
- This position may require ongoing orintermittent use of a company vehicle.
Selected candidates mustpossess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy./n /n

Abilities:
- Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extendedperiod of time.
- Relocates a 12 foot stepladder withoutassistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climband maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and alltypes of ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels,pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitivebasis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the abilityto see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate inEnglish.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weightlimit while carrying tools.
- Tell when something is wrong or islikely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, onlyrecognizing there is a problem.
