Performs housekeeping and maintenance. Must be familiar with thevessel’s layout. Employees may be required to work non-regularworkdays and shifts, as well as work and travel out of thearea.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
includes the following,additional duties may be assigned: Performs duties and carries responsibilities, as outlined in thehopper Safety Management System, including all procedures listedfor the position in
SMS 6.3-1
Positions and procedures crossreference. Must be familiar with the Safety Management System (SMS) and followprocedures. Stands bridge watch as a lookout and helmsman at sea. Steer theship and comply with helm orders. Contributes to monitoring andcontrolling a safe watch. Handles lines during berthing, anchoring and other mooringoperations; stows lines and rigging. Operates deck machinery andequipment, including cranes. Performs general housekeeping and vessel upkeep. Keeps work areason deck and common areas clean and orderly. Washes down and cleanssurfaces, removes debris, collects trash, and paints. Transports materials/supplies from the deck to storage areas. Movesmaterials/tools to and from work areas. Performs tasks outlined in the Preventive Maintenance andInspection (PMI) program. Operates life-saving and emergency equipment. Performs dutiesrequired on the Emergency Station Bill for both drills and actualemergencies, including fire, flooding, man overboard, abandon ship,medical, and spill response. Participates in crew safety meetings and contributes to the safetyof personnel and ship. Applies precautions to prevent pollution of the marineenvironment. Complies with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of BusinessConduct. Maintains a high standard of ethical behavior, encourages ethicalbehavior in others, supports ethical decisions and actively seeksappropriate resolutions to potential ethical conflicts.

A-II/5. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS USCG
Merchant Mariner Credential as an Able Seaman (AB), STCWSection A-II/4 and Section A-II/5. Valid picture identification required. Position will require valid Transportation Workers IdentificationCard (TWIC)
