Pile Barge Superintendent – New Orleans, LA Position Available In Orleans, Louisiana

Qualified candidates must be able to perform all duties listedbelow safely and follow all the company’s safety procedures.

Primary Responsibilities Manage deck operations and oversee crewsduring pile installation/extraction and during all constructionmodes of operation. Serve as a working supervisor on deck with thecrew when not performing other duties. Control all crane liftingoperations using hand/radio signals. Control or designate allmooring operations of the barge for end/beginning of shifts. Ensurethere are adequate, qualified crews to carry out safe and efficientoperations As the Barge Superintendent’s representative, supervisethe overall safe installation of the project, as specified by theproject Installation Procedures Responsible for refusing unsafework and for carrying out all work in accordance with establishedSafety Standards and work practices Responsible for following theinstructions and fulfilling the responsibilities within theEmergency Response procedures and advising crews on theirresponsibilities Responsible for the maintenance and repair of allpile driving equipment, crane, and barge. Keep diligent records ofmaintenance and safety inspections. In conjunction with craneoperator, inspect rigging for deficiencies, identify andreplace/repair as needed. Responsible for the safe loading andunloading of equipment on transport trucks ensuring that no loadleaves overweight or over height. Build job?specific wood forms andassemble commercially available form systems. Set and tie steel, asrequired. Erect and wreck all forms. Pour, grade and finishconcrete. Load and unload materials. Shovel dirt, gravel andasphalt and perform general housekeeping and cleanup of the jobsite. Check and maintain grade stakes and other survey markings.

Responsible in providing quality workmanship, efficientproductivity, and safe working environment. Responsible forconducting safety “tool” box meetings weekly as well as specificincident meetings as required. Reports daily activities, projectprogress, crew working times etc. to project manager. AttendsPreconstruction/weekly construction meetings as required. Providesinput as too ingress/egress for equipment on new projects. Keeps anaccurate inventory of all tools, repairs and replaces as necessary.

Minimum Requirements Minimum of 3-5 years or more of Pile BargeSuperintendent related experience, with an emphasis in MarineConstruction, Pile Driving, Pier Construction, and MarinaInstallation.
