• Season runs May 17 – October 13
• Start date is flexible
• Deckhands must be available to work until the end of our season
• Weekend availability required
• 5-6 days/week Compensation
• Pay starts at $21/hour – opportunity to earn much more
• Deckhands also earn generous tips Deckhand responsibilities include:
• Ensuring safety of all passengers
• Ensuring safety of the vessel
• Selling snacks and drinks in the galley
• Diligently searching for wildlife such as whales, porpoises, dolphins, seals, sea birds etc.
• Education passengers about the wildlife
• Line handling
• Prepping/cleaning vessel before and after each trip

Deckhand Requirements:

• Must be comfortable on a boat/offshore (however prior boat work is not required)
• Comfortable working outside/in the elements
• Passion for marine wildlife
• Strong customer service skills
• Works well on a team
• Must be available on weekends
• Must be available through mid October
• Must live in the greater Portland, Maine area
• Must be able to pass a drug screening (mandated by United States Coast Guard) Principals only.
