Pre Delivery and Inspection Associate Position Available In Warren, New York

Pre Delivery and Inspection Associate Pilot Knob Marina 655 State Route 149, Lake George, NY 12845 Responsible for ensuring boats are fully prepared, safe and in top condition before handed over to customers. Inspect Boats Before Handover Check for cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, chips in gelcoat). Make sure all systems are operational (navigation lights, bilge pump, horn, gauges). Test the engine and ensure it’s running smoothly. Confirm safety gear is onboard and meets local regulations (life jackets, fire extinguisher, etc.). Check battery condition and electrical connections. Inspect steering and throttle controls.

Systems Testing Water systems:

pumps, sinks, showers (if applicable).

Fuel system:

no leaks, proper labeling.

Electrical:

shore power, breakers, battery switches, etc. Clean and Detail Boats Wash and wax exterior. Vacuum and wipe down interior. Clean windshield, compartments, and deck. Documentation and Checklist Completion Follow a detailed inspection checklist. Document any issues or needed repairs. Sign off that the boat is ready for delivery. Minor Repairs or Adjustments Tighten fittings, adjust hardware, replace fuses or bulbs. Install accessories or upgrades (GPS, depth finder, bimini top). Customer Orientation Support (Sometimes) Assist with walk-throughs to show the new owner how everything works. Explain maintenance tips or safety protocols.

Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED:

Required.

Mechanical or Maintenance Experience:

Experience in marine maintenance and/or mechanical work Familiarity with boating terms, operations, and safety procedures. Ability to handle small powerboats in light to moderate conditions. Skill in using basic hand tools to perform minor maintenance and repairs. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. and work in varying weather conditions. Ability to provide excellent customer service.
