Role:
As a Tug Operator Nights, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels within the port area during nighttime operations. Your primary responsibility will be to maneuver tugboats to assist in docking, undocking, and navigating ships, thereby facilitating smooth maritime traffic. You will be expected to communicate effectively with other crew members and port authorities to coordinate operations and respond to any emergencies that may arise. This position requires a keen understanding of maritime navigation and safety protocols to protect both personnel and property. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of port operations during the night shift.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Tug Operator License or equivalent certification. Proven experience operating tugboats in a maritime environment. Strong understanding of maritime navigation and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a port or harbor environment. Knowledge of local waterways and port operations. First Aid and CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
Operate tugboats to assist in the docking and undocking of vessels. Monitor and assess environmental conditions to ensure safe navigation. Communicate with ship crews and port authorities to coordinate movements. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of tugboats to ensure operational readiness. Respond to emergencies and implement safety protocols as necessary.
