Full-Time/Part-Time Driver-Care Specialist SafePassages Pet Cremation 13151 SW Silver Fox Ln, Indiantown, FL 34956 Job Description – PT Driver-Care Specialist (Evening & Weekends Only) The Driver/Care Specialist plays a crucial role in providing respectful and compassionate care for deceased pets and assisting pet parents during the grieving process. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver the highest standards of customer service while showing competency in working in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
    Pet Handling:

    Receive deceased pets from pet owners or veterinary clinics and handle them with care and respect. This includes lifting, carrying, and transporting the deceased pets to, from, and within the facility.

      Facility Maintenance:

      Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations. This may involve cleaning cremation equipment, storage areas, vehicles, and other workspaces, as well as disposing of any waste materials appropriately.

        Administrative Tasks:

        Complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to each pet’s cremation process, including maintaining accurate records of pet identification, cremation details, and any associated fees. This may also involve coordinating with pet parents or veterinary clinics regarding cremation arrangements and scheduling.

          Customer Service:

          Interact with grieving pet parents and provide empathetic and compassionate support. This includes answering questions, providing information about the cremation process, explaining available options, and offering emotional support as needed.

            Disposal of Ashes:

            Package and return the cremated remains to the pet patents or assist with the scattering or interment of ashes in designated areas. Ensure accurate labeling and proper handling of the remains.

              Logistics Responsibility:

              Support the needs of the business during non-operational hours and weekends, which consists of retail pickup service to pet parents residence, expedited pickups from Vet Partners, and equine pickup services/receiving.

              Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding pet cremation, including proper handling, record-keeping, and disposal procedures.

                Team Collaboration:

                Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth operations, assist with workload distribution, and provide support during busy periods or in special circumstances.

                  Continuous Learning:

                  Stay updated on industry best practices, trends, and advancements related to pet cremation and bereavement support. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

                  • Any other duties assigned by management. Requirements
                  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
                  • Must have prior customer service experience.
                  • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and have a clean driving record; must have reliable transportation.
                  • Must be available during non-operating hours, weekends and holidays.
                  • Must be able to lift up to 200-pounds independently and without secondary assistance.
                  • Must be able to work independently and a self-starter.
                  • Must be able to work in extreme conditions: be in the presence of decomposing animal carcasses and bodily fluids, etc…
                  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
                  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Suite and the ability to use POS/Pet Intake System.
                  • Must have basic knowledge of industrial equipment and the environment.

                  Knowledge of incinerator operations and mechanics a plus.
