RESPONSIBLE FOR
Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipmentnecessary during the obstetrical operations performed in theOperating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she hasan understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipatesthe needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge andability to ensure quality patient care during the operativeprocedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterilefield. Performs patient care duties under the direction of aregistered nurse.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program OR hasoneyear previous operating room experience as a Surgical/DeliveryRoom Technologist OR three years of experience providing directpatient care in a clinical setting.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW
BLS required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
NRP is preferred. Preferred completion of a fetal monitoring workshop and anorientation to learn surgical asepsis.
