Truck Driver – Hiker/Vehicle Transporter/CDL – Part Time Position Available In Gwinnett, Georgia

Position Summary:

Penske Truck Leasing seeks highly motivatedand qualified applicants to fill the unique position of Hiker(Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This position is responsiblefor vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations andPenske customers. Primarily, this position moves our box trucks upto 26′ and for CDL Class A will include tractors and trailermovement. Position may also provide assistance to the servicedepartment to deliver parts and equipment. This is a casual/on-callpart-time truck driving job that is perfect for licensed CDL ClassB or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and looking towork anywhere from 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs.

This position will work at 2300 Weaver Way Norcross, GA and isscheduled Thursday- Sunday shift 7am- 3pm. Must have flexibility inmornings or afternoons.

Major Responsibilities:

• Followappropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destinationof Penske location or customer locations
• Check vehicles to ensurethat mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good workingorder, report to location manager if any issues are found
• Obtainreceipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment forservices when required
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, trafficviolations, or damage to the vehicles
• Other projects and tasks asassigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• 2 years of drivingexperience required
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle recordrequired
• CDL Class B license required
• CDL Class A licensepreferred
• Ability to read and follow written instructions isrequired.
• Ability to work independently, customer service skills,organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function ofthe job
• As this position requires driving Penske and customervehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driverqualification file to be maintained as required by the role.

Thedriver qualification file includes:

an annual motor vehicle records(MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and SafetyPerformance History records request from prior employers in thelast 3 years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT DrugScreening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSAClearinghouse review.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, workthe required schedule, work at the specific location required,complete Penske employment application, submit to a backgroundinvestigation (to include past employment, education, and criminalhistory) and drug screening are required.

This position isregulated by the Department of Transportation or designated assafety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in aconstant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
