Truck Driver – Hiker/Vehicle Transporter/CDL – Part Time Position Available In Caddo, Louisiana

Position Summary:

Penske Truck Leasing seeks highly motivatedand qualified applicants to fill the unique position of Hiker(Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This position is responsiblefor vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations andPenske customers. Primarily, this position moves our box trucks upto 26′ and for CDL Class A will include tractors and trailermovement. Position may also provide assistance to the servicedepartment to deliver parts and equipment. This is a casual/on-callpart-time truck driving job that is perfect for licensed CDL ClassB or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and looking towork anywhere from 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Major Responsibilities:

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks todestination of Penske location or customer locations
• Checkvehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipmentis in good working order, report to location manager if any issuesare found
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods andcollect payment for services when required
• Report vehicledefects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor Why is Penskefor you?

Qualifications:

• 2 years of driving experience required
• 2 yearsof a clean DMV motor vehicle record required
• CDL Class B licenserequired
• CDL Class A license preferred
• Ability to read andfollow written instructions is required.
• Ability to workindependently, customer service skills, organizational skills, anda positive attitude are required
• Regular, predictable, fullattendance is an essential function of the job
• As this positionrequires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated bythe DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to bemaintained as required by the role.

The driver qualification fileincludes:

an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, asuccessfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance Historyrecords request from prior employers in the last 3 years.

Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule,work at the specific location required, complete Penske employmentapplication, submit to a background investigation (to include pastemployment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening arerequired.

This position is regulated by the Department ofTransportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company,and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in asafe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to acceptresponsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety ofothers.
