Ethos is offering a great opportunity for the right candidates to help out in our Home Delivered Meals program in our Nutrition Department. This position is part-time, up to 15 hours/week – rate is $18.20 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement.

DUTIES:

Part time drivers are needed to package and deliver meals to home-bound elders from approximately 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday – Friday – up to 15 hours weekly. Perfect for a 2nd job to earn extra income; for Moms or Dads with children at school; retirees; local college students.

• Pack all meals and product to be delivered as needed.
• Ensure that the correct number and type of meals in personal or assigned vehicle corresponds to the number of clients on the packing sheets.
• Accurately deliver all items to clients along assigned route.
• Acting as a flexible team member, accept changes in meal routes as needed.
• Maintain home delivered meal client route sheets, especially noting client absences. Notify the office at end of deliveries of any clients who did not answer the door.
• Respond to client emergency situations immediately.
• Return daily route sheets to Home Delivered Meal Supervisor.
• Deliver and/or pick up supplies and materials from Cafes as needed
• Ensure equipment maintenance (coolers, heat bricks; etc.)
• Comply with sanitation guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and maintenance of a safe driving record.
• Ability to safely lift/transport meal containers of up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to traverse at least two flights of stairs.
• Acceptable TB test result and disease status.
• Sensitivity to elder issues and diverse populations.
• Acceptable pre-employment CORI check.
• Insured Personal car availability
