We are dedicated to preparing students for meaningful community participation and greater independence. Job Summary Garden Academy is seeking a Commercial Driver to provide safe transportation for students during Community-Based Instruction (CBI), work assignments, field trips, and other community activities. This is a part-time position with flexible days scheduled in advance.

Schedule Part-time:

2 days per week Days flexible, pre-arranged with the school at least 1 month in advance Typical hours: between 9:00 am and 3:00 PM Pay Range $25.00 to $30.00 per hour Responsibilities Transport students and staff for CBI, work assignments, field trips, and community activities Safely operate the school bus while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Maintain maintenance and mileage logs Conduct vehicle safety checks before and after trips Comply with all NJ state requirements for CDL drivers, including random drug testing Support the safety and well-being of students during transportation Collaborate with educators to accommodate any special requirements for students with disabilities Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements (required) At least 3 years of commercial driving experience (preferred) Must successfully pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting as required by the New Jersey Department of Education Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures Ability to commute to West Orange, NJ (required) Benefits Paid time off (prorated for part-time) Work Location On the road (departing from and returning to Garden Academy, West Orange, NJ) How to Apply Apply through Indeed If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with autism and have the skills to ensure their safe transportation, we invite you to apply today at Garden Academy!
