Store manager, Assistant Manager Job Description Must be 21 years of age or older Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable service Greet customers and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams Deliver merchandise to homes or businesses on time Deliver items in good condition Transport items per the departments requirements Complete all deliveries before going home Record delivery times and where the delivery was left on ticket and return to appropriate department Cell phone must be on at all times while working for the store to reach you Must be personable and friendly to customers Maintain valid state motor vehicle operator’s license, good driving record and must pass drug test Random drug testing is required Coordinate and communicate driving routes Call customers prior to delivery to confirm delivery time If assigned, deliver nursery material If requested by customer, call before making delivery Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs Must be able to work a flexible schedule Must be able to load and unload large orders out of a cargo van or pickup Must be able to bend, squat, and climb Must wear clean & appropriate attire Mental/Reasoning Requirements Must be able to read a map Make judgments on times of deliveries to avoid conflicts Make managers or assistant managers aware of any conflicts Must have a clean driver’s license, good driving record and must pass drug test Drive safely and within limits set by the law Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general responsibilities of this position.
