  • DOT Medical EquipmentTechnicians are responsible for ensuring safe delivery, providingsetup, and education in usage of home medical equipment for ourcustomers.

Drives company vehicles at or above 10,001 pounds andrequires DOT compliance. Setup is done in their home or long-termcare setting.

Job Duties:
  • Operates sprinter, box truck or othervehicle at or above 10,001 pounds and requires DOT compliance.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products andservices offered by the company and all applicable governmentalregulations.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies andprocedures.
  • Manage territory to reach service goals and deliverequipment including oxygen as required in accordance with industrystandards.
  • Educate customers in proper use and care ofrespiratory and HME equipment in a home setting.
  • Complete writtenpatient visits reports following set-up and follow-up visits asrequired.
  • Assist with customer equipment problems under emergencyconditions.
  • Process all orders in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Promote services and products to referral sources in the communityas appropriate.
  • Develop basic reimbursement knowledge andcompletely document all information necessary to ensurereimbursement for all appropriate equipment, products, andservices.
  • Assist with implementation of quality improvementprogram to meet company policies.
  • Maintain home oxygen systemsthrough regularly scheduled visits to customers.
  • Assume on-callresponsibilities during non-business hours in accordance withcompany policy.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance andsimple repairs on equipment as required in accordance with companypolicies.
  • Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents asrequired in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Safely drive and maintain company vehicle.
  • Perform patientassessment and re-assessment for patient care.
  • Retain knowledgeof and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE), infection control and hazardousmaterials handling.
  • Maintains knowledge and understands OSHA, DOTand FDA regulations and requirements for oxygen transportation.
  • Ability to clearly express understanding of DOT regulationsregarding driving distances during On Duty hours not exceeding the150/100 air mile radius from their starting work location.
  • Maintains understanding of all DOT requirements including travellog and be able to present upon demand by a
  • DOT or roadsideinspection.
  • Ability understand and verbally respond to any DOTinspector while driving a company vehicle during On
  • Duty hours toexplain their travel is within the 150/100 air mile radius fromtheir starting work location and that they are On Duty time recordsare on file at the Carrier’s office location.
  • Ability to expresstheir understanding of roadside weigh scale requirements and DOTInspection requirements, producing medical exam card, proof of workvehicle insurance and shipping documents.
  • Develop and maintainworking knowledge of current HME products and services offered bythe company.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and function withinthe guidelines of HIPAA.
  • Completes assigned compliance trainingand other educational programs as required.
  • Maintains compliantwith AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program
  • Responsible for cleaningequipment when assigned by supervisor or down time allows,following the Branch Maintenance and Cleaning Guidelines
  • Performother related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum JobQualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Entry levelsales, customer service background essential
  • Military, deliverydriver with sales component or health care technician experiencewould be considered related experience
  • One (1) year of HMEdelivery experience preferred
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’slicense in the state of residence
  • Current DOT Medical ExaminersCertificate (DOT Medical Card)
  • Physical Demands and WorkEnvironment:
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 85pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, andoccasionally lift and/or move up to 160 pounds
