INTRODUCTION:
The van driver will work under the supervision of the Kitchen Manager. The driver will be assigned a van to use on a scheduled route and responsible for operating the van safely five days a week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Responsible for the loading, unloading, and delivery of meals and other supplies, including meal supplement products to and from the central kitchen to the meal sites Driving the van according to the prepared schedule Providing assistance in preparation of daily schedule and routes Report and perform routine maintenance needs Maintain vans by ensuring the vehicle is fueled, lubricated and cleaned inside/ outside on regular intervals Responsible for putting pans in steam table and logging the temperatures of the food, upon arrival at meal site Responsible for assisting in the preparation of holiday and hazardous weather sack lunches Participate in all required training sessions Adheres to professional ethics and standards, demonstrating work habits which comply with Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures High School graduate or equivalent Experience in related field Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License and Automobile Liability Insurance Must have the physical ability to perform the assigned duties
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate vehicles up to a 1 1/2 ton truck Ability to intermittently sit and stand as results of continuously lifting or getting in and out of vehicles Ability to fill out forms and reports Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction Ability to make clear and concise reports Ability to make arithmetic computations and tabulations accurately Ability to work and relate well with participants Ability to communicate in a professional manner with the meal site manager While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; stoop; bend; walk; talk; hear; use hands to grip; reach with hands and arms, occasionally required to stand or walk on uneven surfaces; climb stairs and lift up to 60-80 lbs. daily.
