Roman Holiday First Mates Floyd County & City of Rome, GA Rome, GA 30161 Job Details Category Part-Time Opportunities Status Open Posted June 20, 2025 Closing Open Until Filled Sulzbacher Roman Holiday Call for First Mates The Sulzbacher Roman Holiday is accepting applications for qualified boat first mates to contract with the City of Rome on a 40-passenger excursion boat located on the Coosa River in Rome, Georgia.

Boat Details:

The Roman Holiday is a 45′ pontoon boat with twin 140 hp outboard gas-powered motors and is owned by the City of Rome Georgia. It is limited to portions of the Oostanaula and Coosa Rivers and restricted to daylight operations only. It operates from May through October and is docked at the Heritage Park boat dock. The United States Coast Guard completes an inspection annually.

Types of Charters:

Public and private tours are offered as a minimum of 2-hour trips and can be requested for charter for any day of the week, depending upon securing a captain and first mate. Tours include river history, live music, ecological trips for the public and private rentals for family gatherings, company outings, celebrations, etc.

Qualifications:

Persons seeking to apply should have a valid Driver’s License. Applicants will be subject to a background check and pre-employment drug screen and random drug test.

Skills:

Working knowledge of boats, boat safety, physically able to stand, bend and lift. Excellent customer service skills. Great Team Member.

Training:

Training for safety drills, emergencies on board and general set-up of boat before and after cruise.

Compensation:
