Job Description
Transportation Driver Easterseals West Alabama Tuscaloosa, AL Responsibilities include: Will work under the direct supervision of the Transportation Director. When required must be able to load consumers in wheelchairs onto van with consumer weighing up to 300 lbs. using proper techniques. Must be able to maneuver wheelchairs. Must be able to install car seat properly. Will maintain cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the van. Must complete pre-trip inspection report every day before driving a vehicle. Must check phone messages and record for other driver’s to see. Call clients before arriving to pick them up. If client does not ride, notify the Transportation Specialist. Must complete the driver’s manifest accurately. Must be courteous to clients. Must stay on schedule for passenger pickup and delivery. Must report defects, violations, or accidents. Must be able to drive for long periods of time. Attend safety in-services/trainings. Will carry out other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Executive Director.
Requirements:
Must clear criminal background check, MVR, pre- employment physical and drug screen. Must have valid Driver License. Must have flexible schedule. High School Diploma or GED. Easterseals is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
