POSITION SUMMARY
A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safelyoperating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous andcomplete waste removal services for customers In addition, a Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is incompliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operatingthe vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federalregulations are adhered to at all times while operating thevehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports (“VCRs”) on adaily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in atimely manner.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform complete pre-and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance withCompany policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safetyequipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Reportany safety issues on standard reports. Safely operate his or herheavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposalsite; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer asidentified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcherand/or supervisor. Operate manual and/or automatic controls inaccordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift andload refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material atthe designated facility. Courteously interact with all customers,dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customerroutes are serviced in a timely and professional manner. Identifyunsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordancewith applicable departmental procedures. Continuously monitor wastefor evidence of unacceptable waste. Clean area around an accidentalwaste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standardsand policies. Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle toensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize downtime; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (whereappropriate) on each disposal trip. Complete requiredroute/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports, as required.
Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for thedepartment to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely andefficient manner. Follow all required safety policies andprocedures. Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Good customerservices skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in aprofessional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers andco-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness. Goodtime management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities arecompleted in an efficient and safe manner. Good follow throughability; adheres to work schedule and follows through on challengesas they arise. Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules setforth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; does not takeinappropriate risks. Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strivesto achieve all goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of prior experiencedriving commercial trucks preferred.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Class Bor higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
