Job Title :
Truck Driver We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Truck Driver to join our transportation and logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various destinations across local, regional, or national routes. This role requires strong attention to detail, time management skills, and a commitment to following all traffic laws and company regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Operate company trucks and tractor-trailers to transport goods to assigned locations on time. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues. Secure cargo for transport using appropriate equipment such as straps, tarps, or chains. Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance. Plan routes effectively and use GPS or road maps to optimize delivery schedules. Load and unload cargo as needed, either manually or using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks. Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and other drivers. Manage trip documentation including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and logs. Adhere to schedules while being flexible to changing conditions such as weather, traffic, or delivery site availability.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A or B, depending on vehicle type. Proven experience as a commercial truck driver (minimum 1-2 years preferred). Clean driving record with no major violations. Knowledge of truck maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to lift heavy items and work in varying weather conditions. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems. Strong organizational and communication skills.
Working Conditions :
Long hours on the road, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed. May involve overnight stays depending on route. Exposure to all types of weather and road conditions. Requires sitting for extended periods and physical labor when loading / unloading cargo.
