ServicesAudiOverviewWe are looking for a Transportation Specialistto join the teams across our Florida locations includingGainesville, Naples, North Miami, and Key West! -Incumbent will beresponsible for the pick-up and delivery of vehicles. This positionrequires 100% interstate and local travel. – -Responsibilities Determines the needs for vehicle pick-up and/or deliveriesroute daily. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergencyequipment is in good working order. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, followingsignals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loadingequipment are properly positioned. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources,verifying instructions and routes. Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repairstatus, following applicable state and federal regulations. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, ordamage to the vehicles. Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain,binders, or covers. Drive to weigh stations before and after loading and alongroutes to document weights and to comply with stateregulations. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered vehicles andcollect payment for services when required. Inventory and inspect vehicles to be moved to determinequantities and conditions. Follow appropriate safety procedures for transportingvehicles. Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, andtelephones, to exchange necessary information with bases,supervisors, or other drivers. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil,fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs. Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloadedto ensure that there has been no damage. Read bills of lading to determine assignment details. Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it iscomplete and accurate. Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes. Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely securevehicles. Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading andunloading, operating any special loading-related equipment onvehicles and using other equipment as necessary. Wrap goods using pads, packing paper, and containers, andsecure loads to trailer walls, using straps. Climb ladders to inspect loads, ensuring that cargo is secureas needed. Remove debris from loaded trailers. Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires orinstalling light bulbs, tire chains, or spark plugs. Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team onsome trips. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, usingcomputer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, orother navigation devices to minimize fuelconsumption.
Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must have an active and valid CDL and clean drivinghistory. Must be able to load/unload and drive a tow trailer. Demonstrate safe driving skills. Must be able to communicate with field, regional and corporatemanagement. Must be a proven self-starter with strong time managementskills. Able to use industry related technology platforms. Be able to work in a team environment. Must be able to be approved for a company corporate creditcard.
