Waste Connections is Hiring a Roll Off Driver in Opa Locka, FL! We are looking for a safety-conscious and experienced Roll Off Driver to join our team in Opa Locka, FL. If you have a passion for driving and providing excellent service, we want to hear from you!
SCHEDULE DETAILS
A typical schedule for this position is Monday – Friday , with occasional Saturdays as needed, for a 50-60 hour work week .
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. Read electronic route sheets and service each customer as assigned by the dispatcher. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. Perform physically demanding tasks , such as loading and unloading waste. Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities. Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
Extensive physical activity, including strenuous physical work ; lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds. Work environment may involve exposure to physical risks (such as moving mechanical parts), requiring adherence to basic safety precautions. Exposure to outside weather conditions , including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as fumes and vibration . Noise levels are typically moderate.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Valid CDL license . 3+ years of CDL driving experience required (Roll off experience preferred) Clean driving record required Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre- and post-trip inspections . Ability to perform manual labor without restrictions . At least 2 years of stable job history , with your most recent position being a CDL driver .
