The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, maintain a clean driving record, and create a positive environment for all passengers. Primary Responsibilities Operate vehicles safely and professionally Transport members, following pre-planned routes per a definite schedule for the school year and summer camp, and special events Drive vehicles carefully and in compliance with traffic regulations Assume responsibility for the safety of children in loading, unloading, and while transporting them Instruct members in safety precautions and practices Maintain discipline of passengers; report any unruly behavior to a supervisor Clean the vehicle interior daily Perform daily preventative maintenance checks Keep operational records up to date and report issues to the supervisor Additional Responsibilities Attend relevant staff meetings and training events May participate in additional special programs and/or events Evenings/weekend work may be involved Other duties as assigned Education & Licensing High School diploma or GED Current state-issued Commercial Driver’s License (B) with P Endorsement Dependable and safe driving record CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain (Will Train) Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test Skills & Abilities Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with Teens Ability to maintain order and discipline while driving Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge Time management skills to adhere to schedules Patience and professionalism when working with children Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while driving The capacity to assist children entering and exiting the vehicle when needed Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks Vision correctable to legal requirements for driving Ability to pass the DOT physical examination Hours Part-time Hours vary depending on the school schedule and summer camp needs May include early mornings, afternoons, and occasional weekends for special events We are an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
