Full Job Description Summary:
Trailer Bridge is seeking a dedicated Yard Operations Technician to support our operations by efficiently moving trailers and equipment within the yard, assisting with minor mechanical repairs, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of equipment and supporting the maintenance team in daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate yard tractors and other vehicles to move trailers and containers within the facility. Position trailers accurately for loading, unloading, and maintenance activities. Conduct daily inspections of yard equipment and report any issues promptly. Assist mechanics with basic repair and maintenance tasks, including tire changes, fluid checks, and minor part replacements. Perform inspections on trailers and equipment to identify damage or wear, focusing on panels, doors, floors, and other critical components. Support washouts and minor repairs in the shop as needed. Maintain a clean and organized yard, ensuring clear pathways for vehicle movement. Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with company policies. Monitor and report any hazards or unsafe conditions within the yard or shop areas.
Qualifications:
3-4 years of experience moving and repairing, containers, chassis, or trailers required Familiarity with electrical systems, brake and air systems, suspension, landing gear, and DOT/PM inspections preferred Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 100 lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working in various positions for extended periods. Strong time management skills and the ability to work productively under strict deadlines. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Valid driver’s license required. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is desirable but not mandatory.
