Job Description:

$21.30 Starting base pay rate.

Job Summary:

All drivers rundaily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packagesonto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assignedroute in the order they are designated by the TransportationDepartment Manager. The candidate will operate successfully in across-dock model picking up a loaded truck from a nightly deliveryat the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck back tothe assigned lot at the end of the route. May be required to assistoccasionally with loading-trucks, palletizing product, andperforming other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical, customer relations, andpersonnel management for major programs and projects.
• Runs routesefficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times
• Unloadproduct from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place indesignated customer storage areas. May include transporting productdown ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions.
• Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, upto 100 pounds; frequently reach up to 72″ to stack and unstackpallets and hand cart; constantly bend and twist while loading andunloading product and retrieving items from trailer.
• Verifydelivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.

Contact management for authorization when discrepancies are oninvoices. Communicate all errors/returns.

• Calls in when acustomer does not receive their entire order (shorts)
• Handles anycustomer complaints professionally
• Handles company equipmentproperly, follow written driver safety rules, and performs apre-trip inspection.

Perform pre-trip and post-tripresponsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation(DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Degrees/Certificates Minimum Required:

• High School orGED or equivalent Experience
• One year route delivery experienceor applicable background driving a straight truck
• ValidCommercial Driver’s License
• Class B (Class A preferred)
• Abilityto read and speak the English language sufficiently to conversewith the general public, to understand highway traffic signs andsignals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries,and to make entries on reports and records.
• Customer serviceexperience strongly preferred. Skills

OTHER INFORMATION

• Frequent lifting ofproduct up to 50 lbs. during the shift, infrequent lifting to 80lbs.
