Driver 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars Saint Petersburg, FL 33707 Transports residents in a safe manner while observing all safe driving standards. Communicates with residents, physician offices, and the community at large in a professional manner at all times. Informs residents, community team members and medical providers of times of pick-up and drop-off of residents to activities and appointments. 2. Follows schedule as written with minimal change and cancellation. Uses appropriate procedures to assist residents to minimize the risk of injury or accident. Understands the medical needs of the resident and how best to approach the resident to and from the vehicle and in loading and unloading the resident. 3. Resident outings will be scheduled on the monthly calendar and will include site-seeing trips, destination locations, and medical trips. This transportation will be the responsibility of the Driver who carries out activity outings and medical visits transportation with the assisted living department. 4. Carries belongings, opens doors, and cautions residents on steps and other objects in their path. Opens/closes and loads/unloads walkers and wheelchairs. Assists residents in and out of the vehicle utilizing the wheelchair lift and/or stairs, if needed. 5. Ensures residents are safely seated with seat belts secured. 6. Assists residents in wheelchairs during activities outside the community. 7. Accounts for presence of all residents when leaving or returning to the community. Calls resident rooms for appointment/activity reminders, as needed. 8. Fills the community motor vehicle with gasoline at pre-approved service stations. 9. Responds immediately and appropriately to all accidents and emergencies, based on established protocol. 10. Interacts with residents in a friendly manner, providing meaningful attention and communicating concerns of resident’s health to management as appropriate. 11. May be responsible for ensuring all vehicle license plates, inspection tags, and insurance cards are current and displayed properly. 12. Maintains the cleanliness and safety of all vehicles. Checks the vehicles prior to transporting residents in order to ensure that all safety and emergency equipment is available during transports. Keeps a maintenance log on the vehicles and ensures that all preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner. 13. Works in a safe manner and ensures that unsafe actions are brought to the attention of the Executive Director. Compliant with Safety Committee Standards. Should workplace injuries occur, the Executive Director will be notified, and the Driver will follow all procedures for treatment, investigation, and return to work. Injured workers will communicate with their supervisor as noted in the Employee Handbook. 14. Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors. 15.
