Kumho Tire is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious CDL Driver to operate commercial vehicles and transport goods efficiently and safely to designated local locations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Medical Examiners Card and a strong commitment to following all traffic laws and company regulations. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time effectively.
Job Duties
Local driving of company trucks in Macon, GA area to transport material.
Will load tires from Shipping Department in trailer in the morning hours, approximately 1.5 hours.
Will transport truck loads from Receiving department to company warehouse, approximately 30 minutes away – daily goal of 5 trips per day.
Periodically move scrap materials to scrap yard in Perry, GA area.
Some overtime required and some weekends required.
Operate assigned commercial vehicles (tractor-trailer) in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and associated equipment, identifying and reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper securement to prevent damage during transit. This may involve using various equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including driver logs (electronic or paper), vehicle inspection reports, delivery receipts, and any other required documentation in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Hours of Service (HOS) rules, and company safety policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class-A
Current and valid Medical Examiner’s card
Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test
Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents Experience
3 to 5 years commercial driving experience Education
