Operations Manager Job Summary:

The Experienced Dump Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dump trucks to transport various materials (e.g., soil, gravel, asphalt, construction debris) to and from designated locations. This role requires a strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and the proper handling and securing of loads. The ideal candidate will be a dependable team player with excellent driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently operate various types of dump trucks (e.g., single axle, tandem axle, tri-axle) in diverse conditions, including construction sites, roadways, and landfills. Transport materials to and from specified locations, adhering to delivery schedules and traffic laws. Properly load and unload materials, ensuring even weight distribution and securement to prevent shifting or spillage. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including tires, brakes, lights, fluids, and other safety-critical components, and complete inspection reports. Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel immediately. Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab and exterior. Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and traffic regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members. Follow instructions and directions accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate daily logs and records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance. Operate any additional equipment as required and trained (e.g., tarping systems). Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with an excellent driving record. Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards. Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and identify potential mechanical issues. Ability to safely operate manual and automatic transmissions (if applicable). Physical ability to climb in and out of the truck, lift tarps, and perform other physically demanding tasks. Strong understanding of loading and unloading procedures and weight distribution. Ability to read and interpret maps, directions, and delivery instructions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. [
