Transit Driver (PT) Position Available In Habersham, Georgia

Transit Driver (PT) Habersham County Board of Commissioners Habersham County, GA This position is responsible for driving a van to transport citizens.

Major Duties:

Operates a van to pick up and transport citizens to various locations throughout the County. Accepts money from patrons; maintains records of same; balances transit funds. Maintains trip record, mileage, and preventive maintenance logs. Performs preventive maintenance on the vans, including oiling and fueling, checking for repair needs, and driving vans to the service shop. Cleans and washes the van. Assists patrons in getting on and off the transit van; assures that wheelchair-bound patrons are properly secured. Responds to passenger complaints. Operates a cell phone and onboard table to send and receive messages. Train Transit Operators. Performs other related duties as required for the efficient operations of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old or older of time of hire to meet all legal requirements for this position. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position usually associated with one year of experience. Possession of a valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Georgia. The successful candidate must pass a Background/Reference Check, and Pre-Employment Drug Screenings prior to the start of employment.
