Lake Crew Technician II – Driver 2.6 2.6 out of 5 stars 1740 Dawsonville Highway NW, Gainesville, GA 30501 The Service Technician II is a member of the lake crew who is responsible for working with a small, 2-3-person team to install or repair boat docks and/or accessories. The installs or repairs could include repairing or installing decking, steel and aluminum frames, metal roofing, boat lifts, or floats as well as moving docks in or out of the water. The work is accomplished by using a modified pontoon boat to travel across lakes, rivers, etc. to access the boat dock. Quality dock service is completed while growing in skill and professionalism, in a positive team environment. The Service Technician II is a moderately skilled position. Direct report is your assigned Journeyman Boat Captain. The next level of management is your assigned Service Project Coordinator (SPC).
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and how to use them. Good communications with a team. Knowledge of water safety. Accurately following instructions while observing the environment around you. Dexterity and hand-eye coordination. TASKS & ACTIVITIES
Follow and obey all orders. Safely loading and unloading cargo. Relaying essential information to the Boat Captain. General upkeep of the vessel, tools, and material. Daily travel to and from job sites by boat or truck. Fueling vessel and welder/generator daily. Cleaning the construction site. Following the Safety Policy and always wearing proper safety and protective equipment. Work under direct supervision. At times, enter water when required to support or perform a light task. Monitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed. Watch operating equipment to detect and notify of malfunctions. Notify the Boat Captain of needed maintenance or repair on equipment.
JUDGEMENT & PROBLEM SOLVING
Report and Resolve problems with the assistance of Boat Captain or SPC. Must maintain a calm, respectful manner, and attitude always. Must never use disrespectful, foul, profane language. Must always use modest and decent language and gestures. In stressful situations, will maintain a calm demeanor and follow the direction of your Boat Captain or
SPC. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT & WORK SETTING
Requires standing, sitting, bending, and repetitive motion. Requires hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Requires lifting and moving a minimum of 35 pounds. Requires contact and/or face-to-face discussions. Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Exposure to chemicals, hazardous equipment, minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings. Requires working indoors and outdoors in an uncontrolled environment. Requires traveling by water on a boat. Requires good balance while working on a boat dock while it is moving and/or rocking.
