The ideal candidate will be strong in communication (both written and oral), have a strong ability to work with various drivers in a training capacity and oversee daily operations. The Lead Driver will also need to run routes. The Lead Driver will accept and assist in transferring freight from the tractor to the box trucks at the yard. Lead Driver will need to be available to train for one week in Zellwood, FL (right outside of Orlando). Average 45-55 hours a week over the course of a 5 day workweek (M-F, no weekends). Some early start days (2-3 am, to meet the transfer driver coming from Zellwood) and meet each driver each day. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily truck driving operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company policies. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of box trucks to ensure they are in safe operating condition. Perform work around the yard/property. Assist in repairs of trucks (coordinating, assisting, communicating with upper management as the needs for repairs arise). Perform routes (150 mile radius, delivering 55 gallon drums of oil to customers). Transfer from tractor to the box trucks (drums of oil, etc.) Train and mentor new drivers on best practices, safety measures, and operational procedures. Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, driver logs, and incident reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to address any issues that arise during operations. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations. Qualifications Must have a CDL and clean driving record! Must pass a background clearance and drug screen! Proven experience in route driving or similar experience. Experience using a pallet jack or other warehouse equipment is advantageous. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
