This role is crucial in managing the transportation of biosolids from wastewater treatment facilities to designated disposal sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and public health, ensuring that all operations are conducted efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Operate specialized sludge hauling vehicles to transport biosolids safely and efficiently. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate records of loads transported, including weight, destination, and time of transport. Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during transportation activities. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and facility personnel regarding schedules, routes, and any issues encountered during transport. Assist in loading and unloading biosolids at treatment facilities or disposal sites as needed. Participate in training programs to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes related to biosolid management. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Experience operating heavy-duty trucks or similar vehicles preferred. Knowledge of environmental regulations related to waste management is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and facility staff. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
