Description

Summary:

Deliver materials to job sites, inspect and maintain trucks, report shortages and claims to supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintain a current Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) as required
Prepare DOT required log of time on duty and driving
Organize and secure load
Assist forklift operators when loading/unloading
Check orders and shipments for accuracy
Complete daily equipment pre-inspection
Follow guidelines established by the Department of Transportation
Operate trucks in a safe and efficient manner and maintain records regarding equipment use
Timely transportation of product from origin to destination as assigned
Assist in verifying all incoming and outgoing product for accuracy in terms of amount, size and type
Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including drivers logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records and other records required by law and Company policy
Qualifications

Physical Demands:

Employee will occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and a variety of extreme conditions and weather conditions.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to stoop, bend, twist, throw, and work in a variety of climates and environmental conditions.
Ability to lift up 50 lbs
Ability to start, control and maintain a complete process or procedure, and possess working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
Ability to apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 plus hours per week, including some loads requiring overnight stays.
