Job Description:

A Transfer Trailer Driver safely operates a heavy-duty truck and is responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large open top containers from customer locations to disposal sites. Disposal sites include transfer facilities and require the ability to unload waste according to the safety policies and procedures of said facility. Customer locations may require skillful navigation and maneuvering of tight overhead restrictions and narrow alleyways. Drivers must be a team player and have the ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Dispatch, Supervisors and other Drivers to meet Customers’ needs. Perform pre and post trip inspection of your vehicle, ensuring all is in proper working condition and report any maintenance issues immediately, including, but not limited to, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls. Ability to utilize navigation device(s) and complete driver logs daily, including completing and submitting customer and disposal tickets for office reconciliation, vehicle inspection reports. Work in synergy with Dispatch and Customer to ensure Customer satisfaction, including placing or returning containers in a timely manner in the designated location that does not block driveways or traffic. All container and areas should be left clean and free of any debris with lids and doors properly replaced. All enclosure gates should be left closed. Identify and report all containers in need of repair or replacement. Notify Supervisor/Dispatch of any service interruptions or potential safety hazards as well as obstructed alleys, lots or containers. Perform all duties as scheduled, follow route assignments as directed and complete end of day documentation. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
