Transportation Overview:
Wadhams Enterprises, a reputable transportation company encompassing ARG Trucking Corp, RIST Transport LTD, RIST/AMA, and Earl T. Wadhams, is seeking a dedicated Yard Driver to join our team. As a Yard Driver, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of goods within our facilities. 2:00pm to 10:00pm
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate yard vehicles such as tractors and trailers in designated areas.
- Maneuver and position tractor-trailers within the yard for loading and unloading operations.
- Transport freight between different areas of the facility using manual transmission vehicles.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Assist with automotive repair tasks as needed to maintain fleet functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate the movement of flatbed and refrigerated trailers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating yard equipment.
- Support delivery drivers by efficiently organizing freight for loading onto trucks.
Skills:
- Proficiency in regional lane driving for efficient movement within the facility.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles for precise maneuvering.
- Knowledge of tractor-trailer operations to facilitate smooth transportation.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive and operate yard vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Understanding of freight logistics and organization within a yard setting.
