Job Description Position Purpose:

Responsible for safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardousmaterials from the customer site to the appropriate designatedsites using van trailers, straight trucks, flatbeds, tankers,roll-off frames, or other waste carrying equipment. Ensures thatthe condition of the material packaging meets the U.S. Departmentof Transportation (DOT) specifications, inspects manifests andshipping paperwork for accuracy, and maintains currenttransportation permits for all areas traveled. Abides by allregulations set forth by DOT, EPA, state and local governments, andVES-TS policies and procedures.

Primary Duties/responsibilities:

Perform daily inspections of vehicle and/or trailer prior todriving to ensure the safety and integrity of equipment going todesignated sites. Prior to transporting materials reviews shipmentrecords, manifests, container labeling, vehicle placards, andintegrity of loaded drums, roll-off boxes or bulk tankers. Ensurethat DOT requirements such as load weight limits, driver log books,Vehicle Inspection Records, transportation permits, insurancecards, fuel trip reports, IFTA fuel stickers, or other paperwork isup to date and valid. Consults with customers pertaining to loadconditions, drum counts or paperwork inconsistencies to ensure thatmaterials can be properly transported to designated site(s). Notifyimmediate supervisor of any moving violations and/or accidentsin-route to and/or from sites. Assist in the loading/unloading ofmaterials at designated sites utilizing appropriate equipment.

High School diploma or General Educational Development(GED) required Prior commercial driving experience requiredKnowledge / Skills /

Abilities:

Familiarity with U.S. Department ofTransportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to the transportationof hazardous and non-hazardous materials Strong team playerExcellent interpersonal and communication skills Time management:the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks Strong customerservice orientation Required Certification / Licenses /

Training:

Valid Class A Commercial Driving License (CDL) required Hazmat (H)endorsement required Tanker (T) endorsement required 40-Hour

Additional Information Targeted HourlyPay Range:

Minimum of $28 to a maximum of $30
