Prioritize time spent on planning routes and schedules to optimize delivery and pickup efficiency, minimizing delays and maximizing productivity. The most important duties of this job include safely operating a box truck to make local deliveries and pickups in accordance with established schedules. Assist with the loading and unloading of the truck when required, ensuring that items are properly secured for transport to prevent damage. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, obtaining necessary signatures and documenting any discrepancies or issues. Collaborate with the Transportation Manager to communicate any challenges or changes in the delivery and pickup schedule promptly. Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and company safety regulations during the operation of the box truck. Spend time ensuring the box truck is properly maintained and in good working condition, conducting routine inspections and reporting any issues promptly. Respond promptly to customer inquiries or concerns during deliveries, maintaining a professional and customer-focused demeanor. Any other action deemed reasonable or significant by management to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of local transportation operations. Requirements Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, meeting all legal and company requirements for operating a box truck. Proven experience in driving box trucks or similar vehicles, with a strong understanding of local traffic laws and regulations. Organizational skills to plan and execute efficient delivery and pickup schedules. Strong attention to detail in maintaining accurate records for each delivery and pickup. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members, representing the company in a positive and professional manner. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures. Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate varying delivery and pickup schedules. Willingness to undergo any necessary training or certifications required for the position.
