DOE Position Purpose:

Food andfood service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in thecountry’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only makesure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at thearranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of ourcompany – building lasting relationships with our customers! As aDriver, Shuttle, you will play a vital role in the operation of ourbusiness by transporting empty trailers to the Operating Companywarehouse locations and turn around and deliver full trailers todomicile/shuttle yard locations. The Driver, Shuttle drives atandem trailer, tractor trailer and/or straight truck on intrastateand interstate routes for the purpose of transporting emptytrailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations. Turns aroundand delivers full trailers with various products todomicile/shuttle yard locations in a safe and timely manner and inaccordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workersprofessionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in atimely manner. Functions as a team member within the department andorganization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to bestserve the company Position Responsibilities may include, but notlimited to: Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/posttrip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer accordingto Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspectstractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safetystandards and take appropriate action as needed. Reports all safetyissues and/or repairs required. Follows all DOT regulations andcompany safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately reportsall safety hazards. Inspects trailer for properly loaded andsecured freight. Ensures all required route paperwork is withtractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch. Drivesand delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule.

Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines. Parks andstores tractor trailers in designated areas. Ensures all equipmentand freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured.

Collects and secures damaged goods and customer returns in emptytrailer to bring back to driver check-in at base facility andcomplete necessary paperwork. Unloads all equipment, materials andremove trash from trailers as required. Completes daily record ofhours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT,state, and company requirements. Performs general housekeepingduties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear andclean as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification:

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent ExperienceValid CDL A Doubles Certification Must be 21 years of age Meet allState licensing and/or certification requirements (whereapplicable) Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years Workrequired 3rd shift schedule, Sunday -Thursday nights (schedules mayvary) Pass pre-employment drug test Pass road test Valid currentDOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card Able tohand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipmentto move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size andweight throughout shift; product generally ranges fromapproximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location.
