JOB SUMMARY
To serve our customers bysafely and efficiently transporting product from the warehouse bydriving a tractor-trailer to various destination points accordingto customer invoices and company standards. Responsibilities
- Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customerlocation and ensures the product is delivered on a timely basis,according to assigned route; loads and unloads product according tocustomer specifications.
- Ensures all paperwork is completedaccording to established company and governmental guidelines (e.
g.
DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehiclemaintenance reports and pre and post-trip reports are completedaccurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoicesare accurate and case counts match bill of ladings).
- Ensures allfood safety protocols are met according to established guidelines(e.g. proper temperatures are maintained in the delivery vehicle)
- Follows preferred work methods at all times, and immediatelyadvises the management team of any unsafe conditions.
- Maintainsand safely operates all assigned equipment, including but notlimited to pallets, load bars, SLS unit, and personal protectiveequipment.
- Develops and establishes good relationships withcustomers by providing excellent and courteous service with clearcommunication.
- Communicates with management team regarding anydeviations to route, trailer or loading issues and/or customer orproduct issues.
- Works assigned schedule and work outside theusual work schedule as needed to meet customer needs; exhibitsregular and predictable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- High schooldiploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor-trailerdriving experience preferred.
- Completion of a tractor-trailerdriving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to ahigh school diploma. Certifications and/or technical requirementsValid Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Must be insurable tooperate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continuedemployment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:
Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; Hazmat guidelines;Safe lifting and delivery practices
- Skill in: driving over longdistances, over a variety of terrains and in varying weatherconditions, communicating with customers; solving problems;delivering the product
- Ability to: drive a tractor-trailer unitboth in the day and at night in a variety of traffic and weatherconditions and remain alert and aware of surroundings

- Operate a 3 axle tractor, 45′
- 48′ trailer, straight truck,onboard computer
- keypad and a 2 wheel hand cart
- perform basicmath functions (e.g. add, subtract, multiply, divide); effectivelyplan and organize work activities independent of directsupervision; solve problems
- Ability to read and speak the Englishlanguage sufficiently to converse with the general public, tounderstand highway traffic signs and signals in the Englishlanguage, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries onreports and records. Physical Demands
