JOB SUMMARY
To serve our customers by safely andefficiently transporting products from the warehouse by driving atractor trailer to various customers and properly delivering andunloading products according to customer invoices and companystandards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart downramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places indesignated customer storage areas according to customerspecifications and company standards (e.g., handling productaccording to preferred work methods, scanning product as it isdelivered into the store).
- Ensures all paperwork is completedaccording to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g.,DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehiclemaintenance reports and pre
- and post-trip reports are completedaccurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoicesare accurate and turned in daily and all damages and shortages arereported promptly).
- Ensures all food safety protocols are metaccording to established guidelines (e.g., proper temperatures aremaintained in the delivery vehicle, product is inspected forvisible damages prior to delivery, product is delivered and storedto prevent cross contamination) and maintains sanitary conditionsin tractor and trailer; assists with maintaining sanitaryconditions in the warehouse and yard.
- Develops and establishesgood relationships with customers by providing excellent andcourteous service with clear communication.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractortrailer driving experience preferred.
Completion of a tractortrailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in additionto a high school diploma.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICALREQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Must beinsurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial andcontinued employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledgeof:
DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; Safe lifting and deliverypractices.
- Skill in: driving over long distances, over a varietyof terrains and in varying weather conditions, communicating withcustomers; solving problems; delivering products.
- Ability to:drive a tractor-trailer unit both in the day and at night, remainalert and aware of surroundings; meet or exceed minimumproductivity levels established by the Company; handle hazardousmaterials and food and restaurant items that are frozen, dry andrefrigerated; operate a 3 axle tractor, 45′
- 48′ trailer, straighttruck, on board computer, key pad and a 2 wheel hand cart
- performbasic math functions (e.g. add, subtract, multiply, divide);effectively plan and organize work activities independent of directsupervision; solve problems.
- Ability to read and speak theEnglish language sufficiently to converse with the general public,to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the Englishlanguage, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries onreports and records
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The associate isfrequently required to lift, push, or move product that weighs upto 50 pounds by hand and push/pull up to 250 pounds of product witha 2-wheeled hand cart down a ramp and into the customer’s storageareas; climb in and out of a tractor and trailer; reach to stackand unstack pallets and hand cart; bend and twist while loading andunloading product, and retrieving items from trailer. Specificvision abilities required by this job include close vision,distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptionand ability to adjust focus.

The associate is occasionally exposed to high,precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level inthe work environment is usually moderate. Overtime hours, workingweekends and holidays, and starting at various start times arerequired to successfully meet customers’ needs.
