Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and safety-conscious Hotel Van Driver to provide efficient and courteous transportation services to our hotel guests. The Van Driver is responsible for safely operating the hotel shuttle van to transport guests to and from designated locations, such as the airport, local attractions, and businesses, while providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Functions:
Safely operate the hotel shuttle van, adhering to all traffic laws and hotel policies. Transport hotel guests to and from the airport, local attractions, businesses, and other pre-approved destinations according to a set schedule or guest requests. Assist guests with loading and unloading their luggage and belongings in a safe and courteous manner. Maintain a clean and well-maintained condition of the hotel van, including regular interior and exterior cleaning. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, and safety equipment, and report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of passenger trips, mileage, and any incidents. Provide guests with information about the local area, hotel amenities, and directions as needed. Communicate effectively with the front desk and other hotel staff regarding guest pick-up and drop-off times and any delays. Adhere to all safety and security procedures. Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all guests. Handle guest inquiries and concerns professionally and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary. Assist with other guest service duties as assigned, such as running errands or delivering items to guest rooms when van duties permit.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Class E or better driver’s license with a clean driving record (must provide a recent motor vehicle record). Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a hospitality or customer service setting. Excellent driving skills and a thorough knowledge of local traffic laws and routes. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to assist guests with luggage and mobility needs. Ability to read and understand maps and use GPS navigation. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. Ability to lift and carry luggage and other items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to assist guests with luggage. Good vision and hearing.
